Bio

Name’s Holly. I’m a girl and I’m also Canadian.

I’m not an original person and I’m also not going to sit here and neither act like I’m awesome nor demean myself to draw you in and make you feel sorry for me. I’m REALLY just an average girl and there’s not much more to it than that.

I’m a really simple person in every way and I’m not going to pretend that I’m complicated or insightful. I just have a really straightforward personality and I don’t like to beat around the proverbial bush.

My likes and dislikes are many and varied. Animals and diagnostic medicine are really important to me.

Generally I tend to be very sarcastic and cynical – sometimes I use it for humor and other times I don’t realize that I’m hurting someone by doing it. I’m working on it, though. Like everyone I have personality flaws and in the words of Dr. Phil (who’s mostly full of shit), “You can’t change what you don’t acknowledge.”

My LiveJournal isn’t meant for anyone in particular, so don’t get butthurt over the things I say in it. If you read it and get offended, that’s on you, not me. I’m over that self-involved-teenager point in my life where I leave things in my journal for other people to read.

I’m a very honest and blunt person, so naturally, one of the most important things to me in a friendship or relationship is honesty. If you’re honest then there’s a good chance we’ll get along. If not, gtfo, because I couldn’t be bothered to get to know a liar. Lying doesn’t benefit anybody in the end, so don’t bother doing it.

Another aspect of my personality is that I’m really ambitious and I can’t stand people who either have no idea what direction they’re headed in, or don’t have enough motivation to give themselves the push to start down that path. People who are lazy and unmotivated drive me NUTS and I can’t understand why someone wouldn’t want the best they can get for themselves. I’m not really willing to half-ass my life and scrape by with an “okay”.

I could probably name a thousand things I hate for every one thing that I like, so in that regard I guess I’m a bit pessimistic – but I DO like to see the bright side of every situation, so I guess I’m an optimistic pessimist? I don’t know.

All in all, don’t jerk me around and don’t expect me to give you anything less than the absolute truth. Friend or foe, I’m going to tell it to you like it is, so don’t ask me a question if you don’t think you can stomach the answer.

Also, this is quite possibly the longest ‘About Me’ that I’ve ever written.
